Bowling, Rockets and Baseball

That was my weekend. Friday night I went with all my boys to bowl a game at Chippewa. Okay, I didn't do so great, even Carter beat me. Don't tell the members of my new bowling team, okay? Hey, he had bumpers anyway, no fair! Saturday we had Cub Scout Rocket Day at Clay Park. It was a fun time, and only a few rockets got lost in trees, including Dylan's. Dylan and I did venture out on Saturday night to finish up school supply shopping, and to get him some gym shoes. I wasn't ready for this, we had to go to the MEN'S section of the shoe department!! Holy cow this kid is in a 7 1/2! I couldn't believe it! Thank goodness I found some on sale! Sunday morning I headed out to photograph a softball tournament that some Chet girls were playing in at Edwardsburg Little League. Then we had our first Fall Ball games at Chet at 1 and 4pm. Wow, I'm spent - think it's off to bed now, busy week ahead.

The last week...

Well, the boys are coming up on their last week of summer, before school starts. They are pretty lucky this year, not going back to CKS until the 25th of August. This is due to some road construction taking place on Darden Road by the school. Dylan had a nice visit with his God Mother, Ann this week up at Magician Lake. Carter has become quite the fish in Nana and Grandpa's pool. This year he discovered goggles and nose plugs and is always under the water! They have also started playing fall ball at Chet, and loving it. Dylan has been missing baseball so much since he season ended in last month. He is thrilled to be playing again. I think they are ready to get back to school and see their friends. We are looking forward to a fun fall and winter - tailgating at ND, yummy holidays, Bob and I bowling on a team together, and more time to cook in the kitchen for me! Maybe I'll even get some scrapbooking done this winter, it's no secret I have TONS of pictures to choose from!!

Camping was fun!

We had a great time camping last weekend...although Bob is convinced there are NO fish in that lake! The weather was fantastic, almost fall-like.

Lady Luck

My dad has been inviting Bob and I to dinner at "the boat" for quite a while now, along with giving us $20 to put in the slots. Something always came up, or we couldn't find a sitter. We finally made this happen last night, and what a great time we had! Dinner at the buffet was awesome, wow that dessert bar! Then, we headed to the slots after we signed up for our new B-Connected cards. Bob and I haven't been to the boat in a very, very long time. We were not in their system anymore, so we both got new points cards. If this is any indication of the amount of time it's been since we've been there, the last time we were there they they gave out cookies when you left and you used the gold tokens to play the slots, and then had to wait in line to have them counted to cash in. Wow, this new boat is awesome, all one level, huge, and the smoke didn't bother me a bit, I barely noticed any. It also doesn't sail anymore, like it used to. No more golden tokens either, every machine spits out a ticket, and then you can just put your ticket in the next machine when you decide to change up. When you are playing the lucky 7 machine (the kind with the three wheels, not the confusing computer screen ones) and hit two sevens and a triple, then you cash out immediately and take the ticket to the CASH machine to collect your winnings! Lord knows if I would have starting playing on all those credits, those winnings would have been gone pretty quickly! Instead I brought it home and hid it away for next time. One more hint, always play the max bet on those machines, it's rough when you win and see it could have been 300 quarter tokens instead of just the 100 that you go through quickly. I think I need to go back sooner this time. By the way, Wendesday is two for one at the buffet, that's the day to go! Yum! Thanks so much Dad and Laura for a fun "adult" night out!!!

It all started when...

...we attended the annual CKS fundraiser in February.

When I hung this in the stairwell this weekend, I didn't realize the meaning it might really have to my kids.

Anyway, when we left the fundraiser in February we came home with a really cool chair made by the kindergarten class, and an envelope with a certificate for drum lessons. Yep, Dylan took drum lessons in March and April and loved it. We have some wonderful (I'm using this word pretty freely, eh?) friends that let Dylan use these, since they weren't using them anymore.

I thought I had two boys, I was wrong, I really have three! Big surprize, Bob was just like a little kid playing on these drums! Looks like more drum lessons are in Dylan's future. I will probably need stock in Tylenol, maybe some ear plugs. He just needs to learn some songs I like! Thanks for the drums, we really do appreciate them (I think)!!

Found these...

I found these on my camera from the baseball tournament a few weeks ago. Grandpa and Grandma Laura came to cheer Carter's team on.

Monday already?

The weekend flew by for some reason, but we did get alot done...at home! The stairwell is painted and posters and pictures have been hung on the walls in the basement. I made some home cooked meals and some cookies that didn't make it through the weekend. The boys had a great time playing with their friends the Plonski boys, too! I still crack up listening to them play Rock Band. Bob and the boys leave for camping on Thursday, and I'll meet up with them at Potato Creek on Friday after work. Looks like a girls night is in order on Thursday! Who's game?
